A family heritage since the 15th century

The history of Maison Villevert is deeply rooted in time. As early as 1487, the Robicquet family, originally from Auvergne, settled in La Rochelle, before leaving a lasting mark on the Cognac region. Pioneers in the eaux-de-vie trade, several members of the lineage—Jehan, Michel, Jacques, and especially Charlotte Robicquet, mentioned as early as 1580—helped build the international reputation of cognac.

This exceptional woman, mentioned in the 1892 Bérauld Yearbook, embodies the boldness and historical presence of the family in a world that was then exclusively male. A founding spirit that Jean-Sébastien Robicquet perpetuates today.

Places steeped in history, reflections of living know-how

In 1528, Jehan Robicquet acquired the land of Villevert and built a manor house there. This iconic site, still standing, is today the historical and spiritual heart of the Maison.

A remarkable heritage has been built around this point of origin: the 17th-century Celtic Whisky Distillery farm, the Domaine du Pérat, with its 17th- and 18th-century foundations, the Grosperrin Cognac cellars in Saintes (1851), and finally Adéona, an ultra-modern production and packaging site. Together, these sites embody the continuity of French know-how, from the past to the future.

A visionary creator serving a living heritage

In founding Maison Villevert, Jean-Sébastien Robicquet sought to celebrate and extend this centuries-old heritage. An oenologist, entrepreneur, and brand builder, he envisions a house that brings together history and innovation, where each site tells a story in the great history of spirits.

By bringing this heritage together in a coherent journey, open to the public at certain sites, it offers a vivid interpretation of the five centuries that have shaped French excellence. Through Maison Villevert, it is not just about producing spirits, but about transmitting a culture, a connection to time, and a vision of responsible luxury.
