Description

Brand History:

Founded in 1997, Celtic Whisky Distillerie is one of the first French distilleries dedicated to whisky production. Located in Pleubian, on the north coast of Brittany, just a few meters from the sea, the oceanic climate gives the whiskies a unique marine character. A pioneer of French whisky, the distillery combines specific features that guarantee whisky production in the purest artisanal tradition: open flame heating, slow distillation, the use of traditional equipment such as two small pot stills and wooden fermenters, and, of course, seaside maturation. Thanks to its high standards of quality, it has become one of the most successful in France.

Manufacturing method:

Kornog is distilled in two small copper stills heated over an open flame. This single malt is aged by the sea in bourbon barrels, unchill filtered, to preserve its color and natural aromas.

Tasting notes:

Nose: A bouquet of aromas ranging from lemon peel to beeswax, all enhanced with a touch of vanilla
Palate: The perfect balance between the smoky side of the peat and the fruits & spices, coming from the barrel aging
Finish: Complex and peaty

Features

Aging: bourbon barrels

Directions for use

Best enjoyed neat at room temperature (18–20°C), with a splash of water, chilled with whisky stones or ice cubes to provide slight dilution.
