Description
Brand History:
Founded in 1997, Celtic Whisky Distillerie is one of the first French distilleries dedicated to whisky production. Located in Pleubian, on the north coast of Brittany, just a few meters from the sea, the oceanic climate gives the whiskies a unique marine character. A pioneer of French whisky, the distillery combines specific features that guarantee whisky production in the purest artisanal tradition: open flame heating, slow distillation, the use of traditional equipment such as two small pot stills and wooden fermenters, and, of course, seaside maturation. Thanks to its high standards of quality, it has become one of the most successful in France.
Manufacturing method:
For this finish, the choice fell on a Tawny Port, a fortified wine which, after fermentation, is aged for 5 years in 500-liter barrels, which gives it its tawny color (hence its name) and beautiful aromas. As always, acquiring ex-wine or alcohol casks is a difficult step because the quality of the barrels is essential in order to obtain a great whisky! Then, the long game of patience that is the aging begins, so that the alchemy between our Glann Ar Mor and the ex-Port cask is revealed.
Tasting notes:
Nose: The delicacy is characterized by beautiful aromas of raspberry and cocoa from the first nose
Palate: This Glann Ar Mor is very rounded and will delight the most demanding palates thanks to its fruity, gourmet notes.
Finish: Rich and persistent
