Founded in 1997, Celtic Whisky Distillerie is one of the first French distilleries dedicated to the production of whisky. In Pleubian, on the north coast of Brittany, just a few meters from the sea, the oceanic climate gives the whiskies a unique maritime character. A pioneer of French whisky, the distillery brings together specific features that guarantee production in the purest artisanal tradition: direct flame heating, slow distillation, the use of traditional equipment such as two small "Pot Still" stills and wooden fermenters, and, of course, maturation by the sea. Thanks to its commitment to quality, it has become one of the most awarded in France.

Production Method:

Glann Ar Mor Santez Azenor 2024 is a limited edition from Celtic Whisky Distillerie, located in Pleubian, on the north coast of Brittany. This unpeated single malt pays tribute to Saint Azenor, Countess of Trégor-Goëlo in the 6th century, who was unjustly condemned and cast out to sea in a barrel while pregnant. After drifting for five months, she is said to have found refuge in Ireland, where she gave birth to her son. Having become a healing saint and a symbol of fertility in Breton legend, she is celebrated every year on December 7th.
This whisky was aged for four years in the distillery's cellars, benefiting from a maritime maturation that gives it a unique aromatic complexity. It is bottled at cask strength at 61.4%.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Vanilla and brioche notes, evolving towards aromas of dried fruits such as apricot, accompanied by a touch of rancio.
Palate: The attack is lively, balanced by a very beautiful roundness.
Finish: Long, toasted, and spicy, testifying to the richness of this single malt.
