Description
Brand History:
Founded in 1997, Celtic Whisky Distillerie is one of the first French distilleries dedicated to whisky production. Located in Pleubian, on the north coast of Brittany, just a few meters from the sea, the oceanic climate gives the whiskies a unique marine character. A pioneer of French whisky, the distillery combines specific features that guarantee whisky production in the purest artisanal tradition: open flame heating, slow distillation, the use of traditional equipment such as two small pot stills and wooden fermenters, and, of course, seaside maturation. Thanks to its high standards of quality, it has become one of the most successful in France.
Manufacturing method:
Gwalarn, meaning "Northwest Wind" in Breton, is the world's first premium Celtic blend. Gwalarn Cognac Cask Finish is a refined whisky born from a precise blend of Scottish, Germanic, and French malts. Benefiting from Celtic Whisky Distillerie's unique expertise in selecting and blending the finest eaux-de-vie, this edition completes the picture with a unique maturation in cognac casks, a region inseparable from French heritage and expertise in spirits.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Rich and opulent with woody notes.
Palate: The promise revealed on the nose is confirmed with a frank and lively attack. The suppleness of vanilla and honey is enhanced by subtle notes of cognac, imparting a remarkable smoothness, the result of maturing in noble barrels.
Finish: Full and unique, the peat supported by the cereals reveals pleasant, gourmet and authentic notes.
