A family business founded in the 1990s by Jean Grosperrin, and now run by his son Guilhem and his sister Axelle, Cognac Grosperrin embodies the very essence of the cognac merchant-producer profession as it was practiced in the 18th century.

Description

Cognac Grosperrin 10 Year Old is a true testament to the authenticity of the terroir. The spirit of Grosperrin cognacs is rooted in the desire to showcase the Charentais heritage without artifice. Guilhem Grosperrin, a true cognac artisan, traverses the lands of the appellation every year in search of confidential lots and family legacies. In their restored 19th-century cellar in Saintes, the cognacs are raised as unique works of art, a faithful reflection of a terroir, a plot, a vintage, and a story. Where some blend lots from different origins to create quality products, Grosperrin Cognacs craft inherently unique and rare cognacs that are unmistakable.

This exceptional cognac is aged for 5 years in seasoned casks in a dry cellar and an additional 5 years in a humid cellar; it originates from the commune of Saint-Pierre d'Oléron. The family estate where this cognac was produced is today one of the largest on the island. This little-known terroir was once an important production area and is exceptional in many respects. The sandy soils and salt-laden winds give this cognac sought-after maritime accents.

Nose: Invigorating notes of sea spray, mimosa, and warm sand, reminiscent of the aromas of the Côte Sauvage. Palate: A luscious and saline balance, with aromas of macerated grape, white fruits, and fresher, pastry-like notes. Finish: A beautiful tension behind the fruity notes, typical of the Oléron terroir. By choosing Cognac Grosperrin 10 Year Old, you are opting for a unique sensory experience that will immerse you in the heart of the region's viticultural heritage.
