A family business founded in the 1990s by Jean Grosperrin, and now run by his son Guilhem and his sister Axelle, Cognac Grosperrin embodies the very essence of the cognac merchant-producer profession as it was practiced in the 18th century.

Description

Discover our cognac-fortified grape must:

Cognac-fortified grape musts represent an ancient tradition, crafted from white or red grape musts and Cognac, exclusively sourced from the same family estate. Local winemakers often set aside a few barrels of their production for personal consumption, aging them for decades. We seek out these lots, which mature slowly alongside the family, as they offer authentic and refined flavors.

Production Method:

Originating from Bréville, our cognac-fortified must comes from a traditional estate deeply rooted in the Fins Bois terroir. This must is stored for a long time in vats before being aged in barrels, where it acquires unique complexity and richness. It is then blended with an older lot to enhance its aromatic profile. The result is a wine that is both lively and fruity, with a gentle sweetness balanced by fresh acidity and delicate hints of rancio, offering a subtle elegance that evolves over time.

Nose: characterized by sweet and fruity aromas, revealing a vinous touch accompanied by early signs of rancio.
Palate: presents a soft and almost tender attack, low in sugar and endowed with beautiful acidity, while displaying a subtle complexity.
Finish: elegantly balanced with emerging notes of rancio, it is light and serves as a wonderful introduction to discovering our cognac-fortified grape must.

Our cognac-fortified grape must is truly a treasure of the terroir, celebrating the heritage and passion of the winemakers.

FAQs
