Description
Brand history:
The spirit of Grosperrin cognacs lies in the desire to authentically showcase the heritage of the Charente region. Guilhem Grosperrin, a true cognac craftsman, travels throughout the appellation each year in search of exclusive batches and family heirlooms. In their restored 19th-century cellar in Saintes, the cognacs are nurtured like unique works of art, faithfully reflecting a terroir, a specific plot of land, a vintage, and a story.
Where some blend batches from different origins to create quality products, Cognacs Grosperrin crafts intrinsically unique and rare cognacs, recognizable among all others.
Manufacturing method:
This very old cognac comes from an undivided estate established upon the winemaker's death several years ago. His widow and children manage the inheritance carefully, in his memory. One of his grandchildren has taken over the property, which has since become a large estate in the Borderies region. The grandfather's stock, however, is managed separately and stored in a separate cellar in the center of the village of Burie, located in the heart of the Borderies. We acquired this exceptional lot through a licensed broker. Since its purchase, it has aged in our cellar in Saintes, on the banks of the Charente River. A very slight reduction was carried out five years ago.
Nose: Very floral and charming, violet candy, spicy roses, cigar box base.
Palate: Frank and mineral, oily texture, nuances of licorice and black fruits, great elegance.
Finish: Ample and structured, true to the aromas of the nose, remarkable balance and comforting warmth.
